The Easter Bunny Came Early

Jude has a big, super soft, blanket he got from his Aunt Leah that always seems to quickly settle him down. So Grandma Suzanne knew he would need a "travel size" blankey for his first flight this Sunday to help keep him calm. Jude instantly fell in love with his new lovey! Thanks Grandma Suzanne!!

Check out those thighs:

TWO Month Check-up

We went to Jude's 2 month check-up today...2 weeks late.

Here are his stats at 10.5 weeks of age:

WEIGHT: 12.74 ounces (56 percentile)
LENGTH: 24 inches (70 percentile)
His weight percentile for his length is in the 23rd percentile...meaning he's a bit skinny for his length. And, we thought we had a chunker. Huh.

Jude's First Bottle

My mother frightened me last week by explaining that when I was 3 months old she tried feeding me out of a bottle for the first time and I never took it. Therefore she was never able to leave me with anyone!
Since I go back to work in 2 weeks, I was terrified he wouldn't take it. (Or maybe I was secrectly envisioning this conversation with my boss: "I'm sorry, I just can't come back to work. My baby won't take his bottle.")
Good thing that at 10 wks, Jude took his first bottle very easily.

Happy Spring!!

Well, we made it through our 6th winter in Massachusetts. We have welcomed sunshine the last few days knowing that it could very possibly snow next week. I don't think we've actually had spring sunshine when the calendar says we're supposed to.

On Saturday:

ME: "Hey Brett, lets take a picture of Jude's new sailboat shoes."
BRETT: "Okay, sure."
(Auburn and Jude pose in front of water to get a good pic of the shoes.)

I made the mistake of checking the picture until we got home. Here's a picture of Jude's new shoes:

ME: "Oh, I'll stand him on my lap so you can get a good picture of his cute sailboat shoes."
BRETT: "Oh, okay."

Again, I made the mistake of checking the picture until we got home. Another picture of Jude's cute sailboat shoes:

Brett officially struggles to take a picture. :) Maybe by high school graduation he'll have it under control. ...Though, I'm not sure I'll want a picture of Jude's shoes on that day.

We met Brett at the depot after work again, but this time we walked to the park. It was a beautiful, warm, evening tonight.
We felt like today's weather was just a glimpse of the summer to come. We can't wait for warm days!!

Tummy Time...Sort of...

Jude's green Boston shirt didn't last too long today. While at our Mom and baby Bible study this morning Jude dirtied two outfits within in 10 minutes. (His second messy diaper exploded up between his shoulder blades. Gross!) Thank goodness I found a third outfit at the bottom of the diaper bag abyss.

Bouncy Lovin'

Jude loves his bouncy seat. (We must thank Nicole Rice for this baby item, because she insisted we have one and it arrived on our doorstep for Jude's first night home. THANK YOU Nicole!)

The other night, while Jude was in his bouncy, Brett sneezed really loud. Jude remained asleep but jerked up his left arm. His arm stayed in this startled position for about ten minutes. We got a great, long, laugh out of it!

Jude loves his blanky up next to his face to calm down. Last night it ended up looking like a turban. Here's Jude's shout out to his cousins living in the Middle East:

A glimpse of how Jude ALWAYS manages to kick off one sock:

Dog Gone Cute

I used to be on time for things. Now I find myself late to everything because whenever I put a new outfit on Jude I HAVE to take a picture!!

Celebrating 2 Months Old

Two months ago today it was a beautiful snowy day when we welcomed Jude into the world. But to celebrate his 2 month mark, God gave us a beautiful 60 degrees today.

Jude and I wanted to revel in the sunshine so we got in the car, rolled down the windows, and turned up Zac Brown band. We enjoyed Dane St. beach for a bit and then took a long walk around town before running some errands. We had fun celebrating 2 months!

Here's a video from Friday when Jude turned 8 weeks old. Just recently Jude likes to lay on the floor while momma gets dishes or laundry done!

Playtime on the floor

Brett has been preparing for mid-terms so we haven't seen much of him. However, Saturday was a really beautiful day so Jude and I walked the mile to the depot and suprised Daddy when he came into Beverly! We were able to enjoy a pleasant walk home together before Brett had to leave again for the library. Next week is Spring Break and we can't wait to have him home in the evenings!
