Crib Changes

This is what we've been walking into after Jude's naps over the last few days. He's definitely an irresistible site to walk into like this, but his new skills have forced us to lower his crib mattress

Jude's big boy crib. Much better:

Happy Friday

Jude is working on FOUR top teeth. He's supper clingy and difficult to distract, but he's sleeping a lot. The top front two teeth have poked through the gums---but both of the teeth on either side have the gums bulging and swollen to high heaven.

I hope your Friday is better than his.

Livin' on Tulsa Time

...I want to set my watch back to it.

We spent a few days in Tulsa enjoying the cousins.

Jude had his first rib! Well, Grandma Suzanne cleaned the bone off first, then Jude got to lick and suck on it for quite awhile. He loved Grandma's ribs. :) He doesn't have the nickname Bulldog for no reason.

Lounging with Uncle Adam.

Every Friday night all the Grand-kids have a sleepover at Pops and Grammy's house. Since Jude was in town, he had his first sleepover with all the cousins! He was only body-slammed once, but loved all the boy wrestle time! (Mama had to sleep over too, because our little man has continued his protest of the bottle.)

Jude got to watch his first live soccer game. Cousin Cohen scored two points!! We were so proud.

Jude had the best view of the field on Pops' shoulders.

Jude spent some quality lake time at his Grandma Suzanne and Grandpa Brent's cabin. He loved kicking his little feet in the water. The life-jacket was cumbersome, and annoyed him, but he just kicked and swatted the water the entire time.

He's 8 Months Old

Jude turned 8 months old this week so here's some facts about his lifestyle:

He seems to be part baby boy and part rabbit because he officially loves carrots. He has eaten 1.5 ounces of pureed carrots everyday for the last week. Don’t tell him, but we’re gonna start sneakin’ in some other pureed foods among all the carrots.

He woke up on his 8 month old birthday with his 3rd runny nose of his lifetime, which makes for some restless sleep. …and usually within 12-24 hours of his runny nose, mama gets the same pesky symptoms.

He has been sitting up all by his big-boy-self for about 3 weeks now.

He drags himself all over the living room and always reaches or gets into exactly the things that are not good for him. Every time.

Jude officially has Atopic Dermatitis, otherwise known as severe eczema.I have one word for you.
It changed Jude’s life and it will change yours too. (That is if you have dry skin.) We’re adjusting to the bothersome dry patches and learning some new remedies to soothe his itch.

He continues to babble nonsense mumblings (Mu-Mu, and Da-Da included). We’re not quite sure he uses them to reference either one of us, but we love those syllables nonetheless!

He still uses his fake cough to communicate most needs.

When exploring different sounds, he always seems to resort back to sucking in air.

His favorite books right now are Freight Train, Touch and Feel Baby Animals, and Dr.Seuss’s ABC’s.
Oh and when reading Pat the Bunny, he would rather lick the Bunny. It’s super cute.

Zac Brown Band still magically soothes him. (But Cash and Lady Antebellum do the trick just the same.)

Puppy Dog Faces

He's already irresistible.
But put a puppy dog blanket on his head and he's too much to handle.

Mr Serious Puppy Dog. Don't let the smiles fool you.

Stationary: No More

I am pleased to announce that our baby boy is just a week away from being 8 months old, and he officially began crawling this afternoon!! He didn't lift his tummy off the ground, but he did scoot himself forward using his arms and legs. I was in disbelief at what I was seeing! It's truly amazing to watch our little man discover something for the first time. One moment he has never done something and the very next his life is changed!
Way to go Jude!!!
