Tummy Time Improvements

Jude has begun to enjoy tummy time. He'll last 5 whole minutes now!
He's also started rolling over from tummy to back this week.
...But then again, that only happens when he's mad and sick of tummy time. Hey, whatever it takes. (I've tried catching it on video, but have yet to get it. When I do, rest assured I'll post it for the Grandma's.)

I'm not sure how he does it, but when I go to feed Jude in the middle of the night this is the position he's in. He obviously can't roll over or crawl and the crib is not slanted in any way, but he somehow manages to completely turn!
In the mornings, when I go in there he's turned his body into this position and is kicking the bumper as fast as he can. I love it!

Jude and the Puffy Box

I'm sure no one except the Grandmas will care about this minute long video of Jude picking up a box. It's funny how picking up a toy becomes such a big deal for us. (This occupied our attention for quite some time.)

The funny thing is, his motivation for picking up the puffy box was merely to get it in his mouth. Poor Jude.

Oh...It's the Simple Things

It doesn't take much for Jude to be content.
He tends to spend his days with one of three things in his mouth:
1. His fists.
2. His blankie.
3. Momma or Daddy's fingers.

So slobber seems to be on everyone and everything...

A Conversation With Jude

Lately, Jude has had a lot to say.
Despite loving the taste of his own hands, he still removes them for some pretty intense conversation.

Jude has a love-hate relationship with the Johnny-Jumper. When first placed in the seat, I'm sure he thinks, "this is one more thing momma's gonna leave me in so she can do some dishes." Jude doesn't like to be "abandoned." A few times throughout the day I put him in the bouncy, or on the play mat while I get things done around the house like a crazy woman until he gets lonely.
...However, after a little coaxing he realizes he can slobber and knaw on the jumper! And voila I've got one more thing to pre-occupy Jude so that I can do random things like take a shower, fold some laundry, and ohhh maybe eat.

Jude's First Visit to Oklahoma & Missouri

We spent 8 days showing Jude his roots in the midwest! We visited Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma City, Shawnee, and Cuba---Missouri.

Jude and his Great-Grandmother Betty and Grandma Suzanne:

Jude looking like an angel in the morning:

Driving back from Shawnee to Tulsa, Jude insisted we pull over at a rest stop to eat and get a diaper changed. He was so dang cute we stalled a little before putting him back in his car seat:

Jude and his Pops:

And so the self-portraits with Jude begin: (in front of Raley Chapel at OBU)

(I love this one with both Brett and Jude's hair blowing in the Oklahoma wind. I suddenly feel the need to sing....OOOOklahoma where the wind comes sweeping down the plane and the wavin' wheat...)

Daddy and future Bison in front of Shawnee Hall:

Jude lovin' on his Great Auntie Gayle at Charlie's Chicken. (No Oklahoma visit is complete without some fried chicken, Braum's ice cream, Tex-Mex, and OK Barbeque!)

Playing with Grandma Suzanne and Grandpa Brent:

We haven't forgotten about the blog!
We've been travelling for 8 days visiting family and friends in Oklahoma and Missouri...and I'm back to work today. Needless to say Jude is out of sorts and having to adjust to the real world: aka not having someone's undivided attention every time he's awake.
We have lots of great pics from the trip that I'm excited to share.
We will be posting when all of us get re-adjusted!
