Hopefully we're gonna get back to our regular blogging routine this week. We've had family visiting over the weekend, and so I'm hoping to keep everyone updated with regular blog posts again.

Last week Jude and I ventured into finger paints and boy did we have fun!!

He was tentative at first, but it took just a minute to really get dirty, I mean creative.

And lo and behold the "washable" finger paints really did wash off all the surfaces in our home!

Our computer finally decided to bite the dust yesterday. So I'll be on a break from all things computer and internet. I'm looking forward to the break and a hiatus from all things Pinterest, email, and blogs. Who knows, I may be better off without them for awhile? We hope to get a new computer within the week, and then we'll be posting more frequently. This weekend Brett is working from home (monitoring all those low-cost airfares)...so I'm sneaking on here to commemorate Jude's 2 year stats.

Here's what we got from his 2 year appointment:
Height: 35 inches (66th percentile)
Weight: 26lbs 10 ounces (33rd percentile)
In the last 6 months he grew 2 inches and gained 2lbs. He's roughly in the same percentile for both categories that he's always been in. So we're seeing a nice and consistent curve.

Other topics brought up at his 2 year: His left foot turns in quite a bit when he walks and runs. It's super cute, and slightly funny, but we know it needs to be fixed. She recommended exactly what Doctor Pops already recommended  (but haven't done yet), which is to simply put his shoes on backwards for a good 6 months. We shall start doing that this week!
Also, his speech isn't delayed (which is exactly what Speech Pathologist Grammy already told us too.) In fact the doctor used the same words Grammy used, "He's perfect!"

I'm marking his 2 years with some tidbits about his current toddler life:

Jude still loves all things trains and airplanes.
He still hates to sleep. (We were referred to a Sleep Specialist at this 2 yr appintment, and hope to get a full night's rest somewhere in our near future.)
He loves chapstick. Sometimes he takes his naps with chapstick in hand, with a firm grip as he falls asleep.
He brushes his teeth 2 times a day, with an itsy-bitsy amount of grown-up toothpaste. He gags at the fruity toddler toothepaste.
Two new cute words that have recently been added to his vocabulary are "button" and "beans." Beans just so happens to sound like "butts."
He's really into smelling things, like candles, coffee, flowers, and spices.
His favorite book right now is "I Love You Stinky Face."
Jude can tantrum with the best of them. He is in a desperate search to find his limits, and we are thankful for his strong, courageous, and quite stubborn personality. We hope and pray desperately that he will learn how to use these qualities to defend the marginalized, the bullied, the weak, and the fatherless.
He's slightly obsessed with the movie Toy Story 3. (His Birthday present from Grammy and Pops.)
He still loves to dance to country music with Momma. Soon, he'll be leading me around this room, two-steppin' like a gentleman.
He really, really, likes to help out Momma with the dishes, and wiping up the dinner table.
We play with Play-Doh every single day.
He gives the best Eskimo kisses and Butterfly kisses.
Favorite foods include: buttered toast, popcorn, strawberries, blueberries, and apples.
Jude's giggles are like a shot of adrenaline into my bloodstream. On the most exhausting, tantrum-filled days, all I have to do is give our little guy a tickle and all is right in the world.

I could keep this list going on forever. So now I think I'll pause and be grateful for my computer-less week ahead of me.

Our little baby turned TWO yesterday!
Grammy and Pops drove in from Oklahoma to celebrate 2 years of giggles with this little peanut.

We set up a cupcake building station so Jude could choose the goodies to top his cupcake.

This next picture was not posed. I promise. We are an animated family, and we get excited about cupcakes.

He ended up pounding down a handful of fruity Twizzlers...and neglected eating the cupcake.

Singing Happy Birthday, and Jude reveling in the attention. He grinned from ear to ear, and giggled the entire time. Hands down, it was one of the most precious sites my eyes have ever seen.

I promise this is also not posed...we're trying to teach him how to blow out the candles...

And he was able to do it himself! Hurray!

Momma and Daddy gave him his very own miniature little Keurig just like the big one our countertop...

Aunt Brooke shipped him a train...and it stole the show!

All the party guests cupcake creations...

We had a wonderful time celebrating our little man's 2 years of life. He has brought us more joy than I thought was ever conceivable! ...and his giggle is irreplaceable.

Have I mentioned that I love my job?

And have I mentioned that he loves to wear my sunglasses?...and play with Play-Doh?

Sorry for the delay in posts. Not much going on around here...

Last weekend I chopped off most of my hair, and I tried to get a self-portrait of it today with my little peanut. He was not interested in pictures...

Jude loves playing with hats, and when I snapped this pic of him, he ran away from me giggling.

To get away from my camera he propped himself on his blankets in his bed to slurp his juice in peace...

Told ya, not much going on around here.  ...except for maybe a huge case of the denials that Birthday #2 is sneaking up on us.
