Just so you know, one of my favorite things in all the world is to keep Jude's shirt on his head when changing him. For whatever reason, he is the CUTEST thing with his forehead all smashed and the sleeves  swinging from side to side. I've never been able to get a good picture of it, because as much as I love to see him with a shirt-hat, he just as much likes to pull it off.

And in other news, Pops and Grammy are back in NY to babysit. Because the crazy thing is Brett and I are headed to the United Arab Emirates for the week. First, this is happening because if you've ever seen our House Rules, our last and final rule is "We will go anywhere." Why not go to Dubai? It's also happening because my husband is the lover of all things airplanes and airlines. And when Jetblue offers him a seat at the Wings Club for lunch, he goes. Then at their crazy Wings Club lunches, they give away prizes. It's a great plus to their meetings. And last fall, Brett was among 300 businessmen when they gave away 2 BUSINESS CLASS tickets to Abu-Dhabi on Etihad Airways. By the way, Etihad was rated the best airline in the world in 2009. So we're leaving on a jet plane, missing our little Jude, and exploring the MiddleEast.

And Jude will be spoiled rotten the entire time.

If you've ever wondered what it looks like for me to write a blog post, or simply check my email, the following pictures shows a real glimpse into my typical afternoon on the computer....with a monkey on my shoulders.

Daddy Time

We settled into a new routine.
The routine goes like this:

Daddy and Jude drop mom off at ZUMBA. (Yes, I jumped on the ZUMBA bandwagon. And I love it!) Then Daddy and Jude go exploring new neighborhoods. On Saturday I asked Brett to take a few pictures of their new finds. I thought you'd enjoy seeing a piece of their morning...

They found a Uruguayan bakery. Where they fattened up with sweet treats...

Jude hates to have anything sticky or different on his face or hands. The sugar really bothered him...

I'm not sure who has more fun walking into new places and trying new food!

Sunday Afternoon

Our Sunday afternoons are usually spent at the laundromat. Either Brett does it while I'm spending the afternoon convincing Jude to sleep, or Jude and I do miniature loads on Monday morning, or we do it all together.

Today we did it all together as a family and Jude always has a ball.

Walking to the laundromat...

Pushing carts around and around, while I attempt to keep him away from people's heels...

Helping Daddy load, like a big man...

Once the laundry's in, we head across the street to the Polish deli for delish deli meats and Jude gets to see rows of dead fish...

And somehow we always end up walking away with this delicious package of chocolates. If you ever come across this package, please buy it, and please enjoy, and then thank me. (Can you see Jude's little feet in the background pushing around the cart?)

More playing while the clothes dry...

Yay for clean clothes and a happy toddler!

Jude seems to like small, dark, enclosed, spaces.
Sunday afternoon I was doing some baking so my kitchen-aid mixer and blender were taken out of the cabinet. At one point Jude disappeared.
This is now his new favorite spot in the house.

When I'm feeling extra nice, I clear out the cabinet before doing dishes, and he sits in there, in the pitch black, doors completely closed, not making a peep. I have no idea what he's doing in there, or why he likes to sit in there for so long. I do know that if you open the door, he screams at you until it's closed again.
Brett says it's a boy thing and all about a secret hiding place.  I don't know, it's kinda funny to me.

If the cabinet's not available for hiding he prefers his closet, or Mama's wardrobe. Doors closed, and he's completely quiet and entirely happy! Beats me!

My Morning View

Every morning I make myself a comfy spot on Jude's bed.
As I sip my coffee, I get to watch Brett and Jude make the day's elaborate train track, and ultimately bicker over who gets which train car.

Here's a glimpse into some of my morning views from where I sit...

I'm a little worried for Jude.
Here's why:
I am not exaggerating when I say my son is obsessed with Chapstick.
He carries Chapstick around every where he goes, all day long. I rarely see it out of his tight grip. We have spare ones now in our drawer for the occasional mishap when we lose a Chapstick.
We went through several nights of historic tantrums when we drew the line on him going to bed with the Chapstick.
Not only is he constantly carrying his little Chapstick everywhere, but every few minutes he is applying the Chapstick all over his lips.
I here Cha-Cha, Cha-Cha, Cha-Cha all day in reference to his little beloved friend Mr.Chapstick.

See for yourself:

Jude's Aunt, cousin, and Grandmother visited this weekend from Missouri.
The giggles were endless and getting back to reality without them here is much less exciting.

We had record high temperatures and were able to enjoy plenty of time outside in the warm sunshine!

Because the "outtakes" are often much cuter and funnier, I thought I'd show you how we captured the two cousins together...

And here's the best we got...
