Doing Fine

We just wanted everyone to know that we're doing fine in the Hurricane!
The entire Subway system closed last night, and Brett received an email telling him not to go into work. Yay! Daddy gets a stay-at-home free pass!
So far we've just experienced some high winds and barely any rain. The news anticipates the peak of the storm will happen this evening. We've got electricity, and we're prepared if that goes out. Who would of thought this Okie would be in my 2nd Hurricane?

So here's some randomness (we'll keep you updated on the Hurricane in the coming hours)...
Jude and Daddy love to watch trains on youtube. Funny people record trains and put them on youtube. And my silly boys love watching them. Endlessly.
Weird.

Big Ol' Pumpkin

We had fun exploring a pumpkin farm on Long Island with Daddy this morning.

Picking out the perfect pumpkin is serious business...

I think I want this one Mommy...

This is definitely the one...

ME: "Smile with your pumpkin Jude!"
And of course this is what I get...

The pumpkin farm was at a Christmas tree farm too. So we enjoyed a nice walk through the trees...

I learned quickly the best way to get a good smile from Jude was to say:
"Don't smile Jude!"
And of course this is what I get...Perfect!

Leafers

We took a day trip to the Hudson River Valley today to check out the foliage, breathe in some pine, and drive down some winding roads. It was a perfect day.

The Hutson's next to the Hudson River.

Jude was happy because he got to watch lots and lots of trains...

Here's one of the trains...

He also got to run around in the grass.
Just for the record I hear this question about 12 times a day in my house:
"Play in grass, Mommy?"

Playing with his little truck in the grass...and he's very happy folks.

Chasing everybody with a fist full of grass...

And I would like to show off my mad Mom skills because at one point we lost his little truck in the huge grassy area. And I found it. See below...

We stopped in Cold Spring to shop, eat lunch, and watch more choo-choo's.

Mushroom Barley Soup please...

And this pic is for my sister-in-law who loves fall foliage and loves a quaint Bed and Breakfast. I scoped this one out for you Auntie Brooke.

And I'm pretty sure I gasped audibly when I walked into this store full of Jadite FireKing. Sadly it was all priced accurately. Which meant I left empty handed.

We stopped to walk over a big bridge and Jude was most mesmerized by the choo-choo tracks below...

I think he loves tracks just as much as he loves trains...

And we got to see West Point on the Hudson.

Day trips like this just might be my favorite way to spend the day with my two men.
A slow, relaxing, and beautiful day with the people I love!

Spoiled Rotten

They spoiled him rotten I tell ya.
He got undivided attention, hugs, kisses, and endless amounts of choo-choo playin' for 4 days. I fear we're gonna be in Grandparent detox for awhile now.

Beating Pops at an arm-wrestling match...

One of the perks of Ikea, and the fact that Pops will give him anything he wants...

Worn out...

Climbing rocks in Central Park...

Bye-Bye Pops and Grammy!! Hugs and Kisses!

Queens County Farm

Did you know New York City has a farm? Well it does, and it's in Queens, and it just so happens to be the oldest farm in the State.

I want this one Mommy...

Oh wait, I want this big one...

Oh wait, I want two!...

We got to see a very large cow, but we couldn't get him to moo. So we just watched him munch on grass.

Not really sure about the piggies...

Yes we're matching and yes I planned it.  (Just wait till I have my little girl to dress!)

My lil' pumpkin really, really, wanted his nap today. We almost didn't make it out of there without a hysterical melt down of a tantrum. So we left the farm and headed home for a long nap...

The pumpkins were way over priced so we left pumpkin-less. We'll just have to go visit another pumpkin patch...with Daddy next time...and get ourselves some pumpkins!
