Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. It's our favorite park. It sits between the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan bridge. It has beautiful views of Manhattan, great playground equipment, Jane's Carousel, the sound of the Subway trains up above, and on Sunday's it hosts Brooklyn Smorgasburg (with lots and lots of yummy vendors for the savory and sweet palate!)

He was most fascinated with the contraption above the carousel that made the horse move up and down. I'm humbled that I daily get a front row seat to watch his little brain work...

For a kid that hates to sleep...that has rarely slept a full night of uninterrupted sleep in his 3 years of life...he loves to pretend to sleep. Sheesh. He just likes to torture me, that's all.

This one's for you Grandma Valerie!

Oh the Veggie Tales song. I hear this a gazillion-million times a day. Listen for yourself:

This time, he grabbed a cucumber out of the fridge...

U is for Unisphere

ABC: NYC is one of our most loved books in the house.

And U is for Unisphere. And it just so happens to be in Queens. So we spent the afternoon enjoying the Unisphere, the sunshine, the spring blooms, and the scooter.

Jude instantly took off on the scooter and scooted his way around the entire Unisphere. We sat on the concrete wall and watched him have the time of his life...

The red arrow is pointing to the teeny-tiny, but ever so brave, and ever so scooter lovin' Jude...

We finished our Dossier and sent it off to India and then we began the long and tedious process of applying for grants, and more grants, and more grants. The fees left due to our agency are still steep, and still lingering. Our agency has been gracious to allow us to be put on a temporary and short term payment plan to pay off the last of the program fees. Family and friends have been incredibly generous. Like, drop you to your knees, light-headed, kind of generosity and sacrifice. It has been a tremendous gift to watch our friends and family chip away at their budgets and give to our girls' adoption.

Seriously, I'm blown away when someone sends me a text or email saying they're praying for our girls and their speedy homecoming. It lifts me up, and the weight on my shoulders lightens.

And now, we have yet another friend wanting to help with those lingering program fees.

McKenzie Gordon is giving 25% of each purchase from the link below to help bring our girls home.
This is for real. You get to buy things for your home, for your car, for your picnicking...and at the same time give to our girls!

The sales will be open for a few weeks so get your orders in for Mother's Day and Graduation gifts!

Oh and really, you must visit McKenzie's blog here, The Gordon's, to see her adorable brood of boys and read about their adoptions stories. By the way, McKenzie was the very first person back in 2011 that I emailed to talk about adoption. It was our little secret and she gave me honesty and encouragement. Thank you McKenzie for giving to our girls in so many ways!

Take Me Out To The Ball Game

We had a glorious day at the ball park today. Brett's company is the official airline of the Red Sox, and last week he won tickets in a random drawing for opening day at Fenway!

It was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity, and we felt abundantly blessed to spend a beautiful day atop the Green Monster.

He wanted to catch a ball so badly!...

Jude was so awe struck with the "real baseball players." He would pump his fist in the air and say "yes!" every time a player would catch a ball.

We're back in Queens, a little sun-kissed, and a lot exhausted. So thankful and so happy to have shared such a great afternoon with our little MVP.  (If NYC would let me sign you up as a 3 year old, you'd be playing ball this spring little man!)

March Phone Dump

Here's our March as seen through my phone:

Who's winning?...

Every evening Brett texts me when he's getting on the bus. That way I know when he's just a few minutes from walking in the door. So every night when I'm making dinner, this is my view of Jude waiting for Daddy...

(I let Jude destroy all the styrofoam with a screwdriver while I was actually bolting the thing together.)

Making hair clips for our twinnies...

Jude's new trampolines...

A very frigid Easter Egg hunt...

Story time at the Library. Notice Jude slowly inches his way right up to the teacher. And he always has his hands in the back of his pants. Sheesh!

Playing outside despite the cold weather...
