His Invention

Jude was laying on the couch with his cute little belly button poking out from under his shirt. He's lookin' extra adorable, and then says to me:

JUDE: "Hey, Mom. Want to build a ramp?"

ME: "A ramp? How will you build a ramp?"

He scratches his head, and then...

JUDE: "Come. I show you."

And that's when I watch in amazement as he digs out the sled. (The sled I forgot we had and haven't seen for months.) And voila we have a "really cool race car ramp."

What is it with boys and ramps? I have endless memories in my childhood of my brother building ramps. I guess boys like ramps and speed or something.

Self-Portraits (The Outtakes)

We're putting together photo albums to send the twinnies, and wanted some pictures of us with big smiles and happy faces. I would love for them to be somewhat familiar with our faces when we arrive!

For your enjoyment, our attempt at some self-portraits. Otherwise known as selfies...

Update

I've realized over the last few days that I've had several people ask for updates on the girls. That must mean I haven't been updating. And I think discouraging news makes me prone to not updating.
Currently we're waiting on State level clearance in India. This step is called the ARC. The ARC committee in each State meets at different times and at different frequencies. The State our girls are living in, will meet next in early June. More specifically, the nun at the girls' orphanage said the committee "may meet in June." We were devastated by the news because it could mean a later travel date. I can't imagine going through the summer months without them home. We're so ready to get started on life together as a family of 5...to get to know their personalities, to learn what makes them giggle, to start the nitty-gritty work of attachment and bonding, to discover their appetites, to see them play with their big brother. Shoot, I just can't wait to hear their voices! Oh, and bring on the sleepless nights. We're experts on that one.
So as the next few weeks roll on, will you pray with us that the ARC committee meets ASAP? I don't really mind if you pray for crazy things. Like that the committee would miraculously meet tonight while we're all sleeping even though the calendar says May. It's okay to pray for ridiculous things, because I'm actually praying that the committee met yesterday and we just don't know yet! :) Thank you, thank you, so much for your curious questions. Your prayers will help carry us through the month of May.

Pray with us:

1.) That the committee meets as soon as possible.

2.) That we get word of the clearance quickly!

3.) That our girls are happy and full of giggles. That they are forming strong relationships with each other and their caretakers. Pray those sweet nuns cuddle them, and sing over them, and pray over them, as I would.

For my precious girls, may these words coarse through your veins as you sleep:

"He will not let your foot be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber." Psalm 121:3

"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings, you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." Psalm 91:4

"With man this impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26

April Phone Dump

Taking a pretend nap at the playground...

His current favorite book "Pete the Cat I Love My White Shoes."

At least someone has fun at the laundromat...

We get his hair cut professionally about twice a year, and that's just to fix what Mommy has messed up and give me a fresh cut. A movie, Cheetos, and an airplane chair. Whatever it takes!...

 Enjoying the scooter park...

Enjoying a hotel room...

Excavating a missing GI-Joe. He picked the tools, and with some concentration, he rescued that soldier...

We visited Dane Street Beach for just a few minutes when we went to Boston for the Red Sox game. I have such sweet, sweet, memories with my cooing baby Jude on that beach...

Cinnamon toast mustache!...

Take Your Child to Work Day!...

A Saturday at the American Museum of Natural History. (Night at the Museum, anyone?)...

A poster in the Subway. I agree with the statement, but what about THREE?...

Popsicles with the neighbors...

At 6:00 am Jude woke up, put on his hat, discovered a new package on the table, and proclaimed with excitement he got a box. I then told him it was a box for Daddy...

Eating a hot dog from both ends...

A rare and bizarre afternoon in which Jude fell asleep on the couch...
