Cousin Camp!

Cousin Camp.
It's a beautiful thing. Once a year Grammy and Pops load up all the cousins and take them on an adventure for exploring, spoiling, and bonding. Since Jude lives so very far away from all the cousins, it's a really, really, special time for him.

They took all the crazies to western Oklahoma and stayed in a cabin, climbed Gloss Mountains, rode Go-Karts, played in a Water Park, explored Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Reserve, swam in a lake, and ate lots of ice cream.

These are the pictures Grammy and Pops took:

For real, I was told he walked and climbed 2 miles all by himself to get to the top of the Mesa, otherwise known as a "big big big mountain Mommy!"

At the top! That's the edge of a sheer drop off! They're cute and brave...

Yes, my 3 year old drove a Go-Kart. I was in disbelief when I saw this picture!

The little boy at the Woolaroc Museum door is my little boy...

And the water park...

Cousin Camp. A beautiful thing. Grammy and Pops are angels from heaven. We dropped Jude off with just the clothes on his back. No suitcase, no snacks, no nothin'. Grammy bought and packed all the clothes, all the underwear, all the swimsuits, all the food, and all the planning, love, and adventure! The Mommies did absolutely nothing. For real. A beautiful thing I tell ya.
Grammy and Pops, thank you so much for the memories that will last a lifetime. Jude is still talking about the spider in the van and he's telling everyone at the playground that he climbed a big, big, mountain. :) We already can't wait for the stories from next year with the twinnies right in the middle of it all too!

Visiting Family

We spent a good bit of time in the Midwest the past few weeks visiting family.
Daddy's back at work. Jude and I are detoxing from the Grandparents.
And we're trying to figure out our routine.

Here's a few pictures from our visit with Brett's family:

These cousins are exactly one month a part in age and they couldn't be more opposite boys and they couldn't be better friends!! They spent nearly every waking hour together and had a blast!

And here's a few pictures visiting my family in Oklahoma...

At the lake...

Caroline telling Jude she's the Captain...

State Level Clearance

We found out our case passed State level clearance in India! (Along with 27 new adorable photos of the girls!)  Now our paperwork is in Delhi, waiting for federal clearance, the NOC. The adoption authorities in Delhi meet once a week to approve NOC's. Our Caseworker told us to expect 2 months. Yeah right! She just doesn't like to get our hopes up in the teeniest, tiniest, bit. So we're praying we get word of NOC NEXT WEEK!!! Please pray with us that our orphanage sends word of NOC next week. We're told that the adoption authorities often have trouble with reliable electricity. And if they have no electricity nothing gets done. Last night most of Delhi was without power, so the adoption authorities were in the dark.  So...

Pray with us:

1.) That our girls are happy, healthy, and loved on.

2.) That the adoption authorities have working electricity, computers, and phones.

3.) That they look at our case ASAP....that they would look favorably on us and give the NOC without hesitation. Pray our NOC makes it's way to the orphanage without any setbacks.

To my disappointment our Caseworker wouldn't allow us to send teddy bears, or blankies, or clothes. So with much restraint, this mommy is only sending them each their own little photo album of us, along with a larger photo album with more pictures and love notes for them to share. Hopefully they'll get the package by the end of next week! Their first tangible gifts from Mommy, Daddy, and Jude!!

And it just so happens to be 7 months today since we first saw one of the girl's on the Waiting Child List. And 5 months ago since we saw both of their faces and found out they were twins! What a long 7 months this has been being separated from them. Please God, not one more night away from them.

May Phone Dump

Here's the month of May as seen through my phone...

Prospect Park in Brooklyn. We seem to always seek out and find nature and solitude in a city of 8.5 million people...

Trying out new sleeping bags with friends...

The Outdoor Adventure Club. Teaching the city kids about birds, poison ivy, frogs, and turtles...

He's gonna kill me for this picture one day...

GI Joe's...

Playing with friends. And they're just precious when they hold hands...

One way to get up to the top of the ginormous slide...

The Brooklyn Children's Museum on a rainy day...

Coney Island on Memorial Day...

And his unexplainable fever (with no other symptoms whatsoever) that lasted 4 days and 5 nights...
