No Objection Clearance!

Our paperwork has been sitting in Delhi for 7 slow weeks waiting to be scrutinized by the adoption authorities.

We found out today that on July 10th they gave us our No Objection Clearance!!

This means now that our paperwork is back in the hands of our orphanage. And now they petition the court to hear our case so we can get guardianship. We're told the court could take from 1 to 3 appearances to get guardianship. (Depending on if the judge wants updated forms or any additional forms.) Our Caseworker predicts that they will get in 1 court session in the month of August. (Depending on how busy and how efficient the court process is.) But that's just our Caseworker trying to be realistic again. So...We're really, really, really, hoping our orphanage can get court done in ONE appearance.

So please pray with us:

1. That our girls are happy, healthy, and loved on while we are oceans away from them.

2. That the lawyer for our orphanage can meet in court NEXT WEEK!!

3. That the judge looks favorably on our case and gives us guardianship swiftly...like NEXT WEEK!!!

Thank you for praying crazy things with us. Thank you for praying that these next steps happen at record speed and that mountains would be moved to get them home.

Heat Wave

While New Yorkers are freaking out over the high temperatures, ahem summer temperatures, and staying indoors we are sticking to the mindset that kiddos are supposed to be outdoors every waking minute of the summer. And so we've spent a ton of time at the sprinklers...

Sitting on one of the sprinklers...

It's a hat and a bucket...

A little friend at the park shared his water toy and out of nowhere, in his deepest, toughest voice, Jude yelled: "Stay away from my sisters!" I have no idea where this came from, but he definitely already loves and protects the twinnies...

Zoo

We took Jude to the Bronx Zoo on the 4th of July to prove once again that there's more than pigeons and rats in the animal kingdom.

And I'm pretty sure it may have been the highlight of his life. He still talks about it.

Is the monkey behind the cage or on the fence?

When you take your 3 year old to the zoo he ends up riding on Daddy's shoulders or Mommy's back...despite the fact that we were all hot and sweaty...

June Phone Dump

Falling asleep in the grocery cart. I'm pretty sure this has never happened in his existence...

Itty bitty swimsuits on clearance at Target for 3 bucks and they ended up in my house...

Naturally the monkey wanted a banana...

Astoria park in Brooklyn...

New tricks...

Making lots and lots of hair clips and headbands for the twinnies with my mom...

Jude falling asleep on the plane ride back to NY...

Jude accidentally dumping all the cheerios on the floor. And for whatever reason he ran and put on his goggles before picking them up. Safety first.

I know, I know, I really shouldn't be buying clothes for the girls. Trust me I know how unpredictable and ridiculous these timelines for the girls are. But really I just can't leave Target without putting something in my cart for them. It's impossible I tell ya. Impossible!

And here's a video just for kicks...

3 Day Getaway

Have I mentioned that cramming 8.5 million people in a city makes you kinda want to go batty sometimes? There's a lot of us. And the lines, and the traffic, and the noise, and the crankiness, and the lines, and the lines, gets old. So getting away can be very necessary for one's sanity.

Thus we packed up and drove to the middle of nowhere in the heart of the Poconos. And it was exactly what we needed.

Have I also mentioned that we live in about 700 square feet? So having a large and in charge kitchen and outdoor grill for the weekend wasn't too shabby either!...

This was part of the backyard and our little frog hopping from lilly pad to to lilly pad.

Oh the water balloons. We had endless fun playing with water balloons...

And we took off on a little drive on Saturday to do some exploring and playing...

More water balloons...

Daddy was great at making us laugh by throwing the water balloons "so high."

We got to see lots of deer each morning and evening too. This was taken from inside, just as the deer was running off.

And this lovely little black feline was the whole reason we went to the middle of nowhere: Because he needed feeding while some friends were out of town.

We drove back into the city to make it in the knick of time for a Birthday party Sunday afternoon.
So that this could happen...

Yep, Spider-Man loves cake.
