Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

Since Grammy and Pops were in town for a visit we took advantage of the extra help and did some sightseeing. So naturally, we took our little immigrants to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The weather was awful and was actually pounding sleet on us as we boarded the ferry. The yucky weather made for short lines and less observers of our crazy, hungry, nap-deprived children...

Did I mention we were cold?

The kids were munching on granola bars and a crazy seagull flew into my head and snatched Roxie's snack right out of her hand. So Jude "trapped" his snack from the seagulls during the rest of our visit around Lady Liberty.

Grammy and Pops, would you guys just turn around and come back already?! We miss you!!

For some reason the girls always end up near the front door to play. It just so happens to be the dirtiest place in the house where we take off our shoes and I sweep less often. In this picture, they took their snacks and their babies to the front door...

Since Jude gained 2 siblings in the last few months, he gets tired a lot easier and thus falls asleep much easier. We've had a few random evenings where Jude has fallen asleep on the couch while Mommy and Daddy were talking unaware...

Oh and girls wrestle occasionally too...

With some scotch tape and ingenuity Jude invented a "sweeper truck" with a broom and a doll stroller. And then he made Roxie push him all over the house to clean up...

We got one gloriously warm day last week. I took the 3 kiddoes to the playground solo for the first time and we stayed out for hours and hours. We left dirty, exhausted and a little sunburned. And Mommy gained a bit of her sanity back.

Since we spent so much time at the playground and we were trying to overcome the time change, I skipped the girls' nap time. And by 5:00 Roxie could barely keep her eyes open. I bragged a bit and snapped a pic for Daddy at work...

Oh and with longer hair we're doing piggies more often!...

On very short notice, for a very short trip, we flew to Missouri to visit with family.
The kids got lots of cousin time, lots of giggles, and lots of outside time.

Roxie loved the tractor and would have stayed on it all day long...

The loud noise and rumble of the tractor lulled Roxie into sweet cuddles with Grandpa...

And Auntie Brooke snuck in lots of cuddles in too...

Oh man, these little 4 year olds had a blast raisin' crazy from sun up to sun down...
